Back on track - here's what my students (12 and 13 year olds) hope their generation can accomplish. I should also mention that the previous homework was reading about astronauts and space travel, which may or may not have affected a few of their writings.
I hope our generation can accomplish traveling from one place to another right now (teleportation). If we can do this than we don't need a car or other transportation and it would be very interesting and convenient. This could also reduce pollution and help our environment, but it is very unlikely that this will happen, mostly it's just something in the movies.
I want our generation to develop a technology for disease like cancer, this could help people who are sick and make many healthy people. Second I hope that we can find another planet that we can live on because Earth is being destroyed.
I want to accomplish secure and convenient space travel so that anyone can go to space. This is important because I think it would be fun and beautiful to see space, looking at all the stars and planets. I think it will be very expensive and maybe unlikely because we would need to build many spaceships and use a lot of knowledge.
I hope we can solve the worlds food problems, now there are many people that waste food in rich countries, but in poor countries people do not have enough food. I think it is likely we can solve this problem by using food alternatives like eating bugs.
(After re-writing her assignment halfway through class) I hope that we can meet aliens, then we can know about them and what they are like. Also if I meet an Alien than I can be on the news and become famous, but I think this is very unlikely.
